New Car Deals for October 2011: Full-Size Cars

Last Updated: Nov 2, 2011

This is a shrinking category and most models in the large-car segment are represented this month, with the exception of the Toyota Avalon, which seems to sell nicely without the need for additional discounts. The redesigned-for-2011 Chrysler 300 and Dodge Chargers are the class of the field with a sophisticated V-6 and added refinement overall. By comparison, the 2011 Buick Lucerne and 2012 Chevrolet Impala are dated and seem destined for fleet and rental-car use. The 2011 and 2012 editions of the Ford Taurus are on the list, and while Ford is bringing out a revamped 2013 Taurus early next year with some added features and a turbocharged four-cylinder engine option, it may not be worth the wait for many buyers.
