New Car Deals for June 2012: Compacts

Last Updated: Jun 5, 2012

Despite the surging popularity of compact cars, we managed to find five deals this month worth $1,000 or more. On the downside, these include cash back on the sorry Dodge Caliber, due to be killed off at the end of the 2012 model year, the underperforming Nissan Sentra that’ll be replaced by a redesigned 2013 model, and the capable but forgettable Mitsubishi Lancer (the non-Evolution models). On the upside, the Ford Focus and Kia Forte are worthy entries. The Focus has European character and the thrifty Forte is available in coupe, sedan and four-door hatchback body styles. Otherwise, don’t expect widespread incentives in this segment other than a few that may pop up at the end of the model year, when manufacturers typically help their dealers clear inventories.
